Mr. Tajdar Alam (T.I.), Former Managing Director of VUTV, graced the occasion as the chief guest, adding prestige to the ceremony. Prof. Dr. Masroor Elahi Baber, Former Vice-Chancellor of Agricultural University D.I. Khan and Gomel University, attended as the Guest of Honor, further enhancing the event’s significance.

Profound Insights from Prof. Dr. Arshad Saleem Bhatti

Prof. Dr. Arshad Saleem Bhatti (S.I., T.I.), the esteemed Rector of Virtual University, delivered a compelling address, shedding light on the institution’s pivotal role in national development. His emphasis on extending educational opportunities to underdeveloped regions, notably in Balochistan, showcased the university’s commitment to fostering education where it is needed most in Pakistan.

International Recognition and Achievements

Dr. Bhatti proudly announced Virtual University’s recent international accolades, including the prestigious Excellence Award from the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE). The institution’s remarkable achievement in securing a position in the Top 5% of Cisco Premier Partners underscored its commitment to excellence in IT education.

Outstanding Academic Accomplishments

The convocation highlighted the academic achievements of the Virtual University during the Fall 2020, Spring 2021, Fall 2021, and Spring 2022 semesters. A total of 22,762 students became eligible for various degrees, ranging from Associate Degrees to Masters and MS degrees. The ceremony in Lahore alone conferred 4,977 degrees, a testament to the institution’s dedication to producing a highly educated workforce.

Recognizing Distinction: Gold Medals and Merit Certificates

Among the graduates, 110 Gold Medals and 277 Merit Certificates were awarded to distinction holders. In Lahore, 33 Gold Medals and 62 Merit Certificates were distributed, acknowledging the outstanding academic performance of these individuals. This recognition not only highlights the academic prowess of the students but also reflects the high standards maintained by the Virtual University.

Dr. Tajdar Alam, in an enthusiastic address, traced the Virtual University’s journey from its humble beginnings in a single room to its remarkable expansion with over 200 campuses nationwide. Catering to a student body exceeding 130,000, the university’s growth reflects its commitment to providing accessible and quality education across Pakistan.

Dr. Alam commended the students for their admirable choice of Virtual University for education, emphasizing the institution’s superiority in IT knowledge and self-learning capabilities compared to traditional universities.
